Genuine Fraud by E. Lockhart, 264 pages
“Imogen is a runaway
heiress, an orphan, a cook, and a cheat. Jule is a fighter, a social chameleon,
and an athlete. An intense friendship. A disappearance. A murder, or maybe two.
A bad romance, or maybe three. Blunt objects, disguises, blood, and chocolate.
The American dream, superheroes, spies, and villains. A girl who refuses to
give people what they want from her. A girl who refuses to be the person she
once was.” This was a great story, one where I didn’t
know if I should be rooting for the main character or not. Lockhart is a master at the unreliable
narrator and I love her books, even when I’m not sure what’s going on, as I
often feel while reading her books.
She’s a great storyteller and I look forward to every one of her books.
