Battle Ground

Shirley J.                       Adult Fiction                            Paranormal Beings ,  Apocalyptic War

Battle Ground by Jim Butcher 643  pages

Book 17 in the Dresden Files series.   Every possible supernatural creature and being that you can think of meets in Chicago for the most apocalyptic war you can imagine.   On the good side, the Angels, the wizard's council,  the Fae, Winter and Summer Ladies and all of their subjects, Unicorns, Lara's vampires, Marcone, Murphy, Butters, Shapeshifters, Sasquatch, and the human residents of Chicago who want to defend their town and more.   There are some bloody frightening things happening and our boy Dresden may or may not come out of this one, not everyone will and those that do will never be the same.   The war seems to go on forever with hundreds of pages devoted to it, but, then, I guess that is what war feels like that it is unending with no relief in sight    You feel that and utter despair within these pages.  The carnage is aptly described in detail.   If you are a Dresden fan, you will take it in stride, if not, brace yourself.   I highly recommend this one to Dresden fans and anyone who is into sci-fy and magic.
