Lani has had a crush on Dawson since high school. Dawson only ever had eyes for Sloane. Sloane had Dawson’s baby but left soon
after. Now the baby, Gabriel, is three
years old and has severe asthma. Lani, in
training to be a nurse, comes in to care for Gabriel. She still has feelings for Dawson but finds
that she loves Gabriel just as much.
When Sloane comes back into their lives, Lani is conflicted between her
feelings for Dawson and what is best for Gabriel. This is mostly a story about a love triangle,
but centers around Gabriel, the sick child, as all of McDaniel’s books do. Teens who like a love story with tragedy
thrown in will enjoy this and all of her books.
