Seven Wonders

Sevens Wonders by Ben Mezrich
314 Pages

Not even rated as one wonder, Mezrich should stick to non-fiction  if this is an example of what he churns out in this genre.

When Jeremy Grady is murdered, his brother discovers that Jeremy may have uncovered a mystery that has the modern wonders of the world running parallel to the ancient wonders of the world.  If you lay them out they form a spiral, similar to the structure of DNA.  Some secret group apparently is behind hiding, some mystery for an unknown reason that will never be explained.

The problem is that Jack had already stumbled on one site prior to the murder (the first of many coincidences).  As  Jack Grady travels from Wonder to Wonder he easily uncovers mysteries that have remained hidden for centuries, with no problem.  Motivations are muddy, characters are shallow, plot twists are ridiculous and there is no resolution at the end as to what the hell is going on.
