Smek For President by Adam Rex, 245 pages
Tip and J.Lo decide to take a trip to New BoovWorld, which
is on one of Saturn’s moons. Tip just
wanted to take a trip and J.Lo wanted to try to clear his name since he was the
one who brought the Gorg to Earth in the previous book. He and Tip are also the ones who got rid of
the Gorg, but everyone thinks that was Dan Landry. Unfortunately, Tip’s mom sort of said no to
the trip and Tip went anyway. However,
Tip and J.Lo did get in to see Smek and he believed their story. Unfortunately, he didn’t care because another
Boov, Ponch Sandhandler, has decided to fight Smek, politically, for leadership
of the Boov. Smek thinks that if he has
J.Lo captive, this will put him ahead in popularity. This puts Tip and J.Lo in a crazy adventure
of trying to escape New BoovWorld alive, intact, and in possession of their
voiceboxes. This was a fun sequel to
“The True Meaning Of Smekday” that I think a lot of kids would enjoy but would
be better to read in order.
