This book tells the reader everything you need to know from running for an appointment to the school board, or any board for that matter all the way up to running for President.    It tells you all the ins and outs of positioning yourself, how to meet and greet,  how to knock on doors and what to say to catch people’s attention and hold their focus so you can engage them in conversation and find out what they think and what they want and don’t want in a person elected to the office you are seeking.     Amanda Litman takes the reader step by step and speaks in very understandable terms approaching the topic in a completely understandable way.    She is an activist who wants everyone involved in some way to get out there and do something to make your neighborhood, your town, the state, the country and the world better by actively participating in things that are important to you.    She strongly urges everyone to have a voice and be involved in whatever way you can whether it is out front stumping for office or behind the scenes supporting your candidate and stumping to get them elected.    There are many inspiring points coverered here and a lot of well known players in the political realm contribute their thoughts and encouragement here, too.    She advocates supporting the causes you believe in.    Her motto is be the change you want to see.    Don’t wait for somebody else to do it.   YOU DO IT!    This really is a how to guide to running for any office that gets things done – she is very vocal in her opinions and is a staunch Democrat so Republicans be warned.   But she offers such good advice on getting things done and being an advocate for education in your vicinity, and work tirelessly in the areas that truly affect things: school boards, city councils, heck, go for Mayor and Governor go from your neighborhood to your ward to your dstrict to your City to your State and keep going.     She really motivates the reader to get up and stop procrastinating or waiting and hoping for change.   She makes the reader see the need and entices the reader to care enough to get out of their chair and rally for something!   Your cause deserves your getting behind it and taking it to the top.   She maps out for the reader the structure from where you stand to the height you want to go to.   She gives such a persuasive rally call that you won’t be able to sit back and let others do all the deciding for you ever again.   She is like a personal trainer in the political arena.   Go vote!   Support local businesses and farms!    Work to bring about changes for those lost in the system!     Support what you believe in if not as a candidate with your time.     This book is both inspiring and entertaining.     A good read.   It will pump you up like an hour of cardio!
