This is the fifth book in the Gone series.  In this book, Diana is about to have her baby, even though she has only been pregnant four months.  The gaiaphage wants the baby for some reason, but since most people aren’t aware that this is even true, no one knows exactly why.  It plans to use the Drake/Brittany creature to capture Diana.  In the meantime, the surface of the dome is no longer opaque but is being covered by a blackness that is blocking out the light.  Everyone is becoming slightly panicked because of this, and Sam, who usually has a plan, doesn’t know what to do.  In Perdido Beach, things are falling apart.  Penny has caused problems and Caine and Albert have probably lost control.  Overall, this was one of the scariest books so far.  Teens who have liked the series should like this addition.  Teens who like fantasy and horror will enjoy this series.
