A Girl's Guide To Moving On

A Girl's Guide to Moving On (New Beginnings #2) by Debbie Macomber
Audio Book: 11 hours   Hardback Book:  352 pages

This has been my favorite book so far by Debbie Macomber.      Strong and devoted female characters (mother-in-law and daughter-in-law) are taken for granted by their philandering husbands and finally get enough of the humiliation and pain they are forced to endure and both end up leaving their husbands.    The ladies are friends as well as relatives by marriage and support each other’s decisions to go on with their life, finding apartments near one another and coming up with strategies together to get their lives back on track by agreeing to try new things, agreeing to try to meet new people and giving back to the community by volunteering.  Through these endeavors each meets a whole host of new people who enrich their lives with new friendships and they each find new romance or maybe it finds them.    The mother-in-law plays games with her admirer and puts him off to play the field since she hasn’t dated in 35 years.      The daughter-in-law is a little more direct with her guy.    There are bitter fights,  accusations by ex-husbands,  love and loss and love again.    It was a really good story.
