This is the first book in Dresden Files series. Harry Dresden lives in Chicago, is a wizard and a private detective. He is also a consultant for the Chicago P.D. on supernatural cases.Things have been pretty slow for Harry recently. Then, he gets a call from a woman who wants him to look for her husband. He also gets called to consult on a supernatural case for the Chicago P.D.
It seems that there is another wizard in town who is using magic to do bad things. He must find the woman's husband and stop this dark wizard. Along the way, he has to deal with mobsters and demons. Can he stop the wizard before the wizard gets him?
I had listened to a book later in the series and it led me to start from the beginning. I liked this book as a start to the series. I like some of the supernatural elements in this book but what really draws me to it is Harry's personality and the humor that is included from time to time.
