Shirley J. Children's Literature: Nature The flower for every birth month
Welcome Flower Child: The Magic of Your Birth Flower by Brigette Barrager 42 pages
A charming book with beautiful illustrations denoting the flower that represents each month of the year and includes a poetry verse that tells the qualities of babies born in each month of the year and the flower that blooms in each birth month. That is so cool. I didn't know if the type of flower was significant because of the traits designated for babies born but turns out it is actually the flower that blooms during that month, which makes it even more significant then of course flowers each have their own meanings assigned from long ago when posies bore special romantic or poignant significant expressions to the one receiving them. The verses are precious as are the babies they are meant for and of course even adults will smile learning the special significance of the flower just for them in their birth month. Geared for 3-7 year olds, but, honestly, no matter what the material, doesn't everyone every age want to take a peek at something that might portend their destiny? Good book. I enjoyed it. It is always fun to learn something new.
