Blue Lily, Lily Blue

Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater, 391 pages

The third book in The Raven Cycle series has Blue, Gansey, Adam, and Ronan searching for Blue’s mother, Maura, and Glendower, who they believe is the sleeper they must awaken.  Unfortunately, there are three sleepers, and one is definitely supposed to stay asleep.  They are searching the caves on the ley line but the search is going slowly.  Adam is building his connection to the line and Ronan is experimenting with his powers also.  Greenmantle, who sent Mr. Gray, has come to town himself.  He doesn’t understand the power source and wants to take it.  The teens know that he may cause trouble, but not how much or exactly how to stop him.  This book has some dark turns but it is a satisfying addition to the series.  While this story wraps up pretty well, it is clear that there is more to come, as the overall story isn’t finished.  I would recommend reading this series with the first book, not in the middle.  You miss a lot if you haven’t read the first two books.  Fans of fantasy and magic will probably like this series, especially teen fans of dark fantasy.
