Guys Read Terrifying Tales edited by Jon Scieszka Audio Book: 5 hours Paperback Book: 288 pages
Very good creepy stories to share with any ne who enjoys hearing about things that go bump in the night. Well done tales of fright I have to say. From imaginery friends who somehow take on a life of their own to wishes for a little brother gone awry (he has a ravenous appetite eating every thing in sight, pets, school room mascots, he almost cooked their baby sister in a soup pot! Thank goodness she was able to say, “Bad Boy! Bad Boy! Bad Boy!” loud enough for the good brother to hear her! A “Be Careful What You Wish For” tale for sure. “Marcos at the River” was a story of a young boy and his grandmother both of whom could see spirits, the boy loses his ability to speak when he witnesses his father’s death. It gets your pulse going a little faster as the number of spirits in the home the boy shares with his grandmother start to increase in numbers. Kind of like waiting for the other shoe to drop. You know something is coming to a head but which way will it go? Brrrr! Goosebumps. Speaking of Goosebumps there is a story by R. L. Stine here, too. From magic, to ghosts, to hauntings and even a bit of Jamaican retribution. Never disrespect the family! Chomp! Chomp! Chomp! Well done!
