Allegedly by Tiffany Jackson, 387
pages
Mary allegedly killed a neighbor’s
baby when she was only 9 years old. Mary
spent six years in jail and is currently in a group home, a ward of the state
until she turns 18. Now, Mary is pregnant
and she’s determined to become emancipated and keep her baby. For the first time, Mary is ready to talk
about what happened the night Alyssa died.
This was a hard book to read.
Mary’s situation is told in very realistic terms and she’s been through
a lot. However, it was an incredible
story and I would highly recommend it to teens.
