The Sword of Summer by Rick Riordan, 497 pages
Magnus Chase has been having a really bad life lately. He’s been homeless for the last few years,
since his mother was killed and now his Uncle Randolph, who his mother told him
to avoid, has found him. Randolph has an
incredible story about a sword, Norse mythology, and Magnus’s father. Magnus doesn’t really believe much until a
sword appears, and a fire giant kills him.
That should be the end of the story, but, of course, it isn’t. This was a really good story. Riordan is an awesome storyteller and this
book was hilarious and full of adventure and heroics. Any teen fans of mythology, humor, or
Riordan’s other books will want to read this.
