Faith

Faith: A Journey For All  by Jimmy Carter             Audio Book:  4 hours, 17 mins       Hardback Book:  192 pages

Former President, Jimmy Carter is known for many reasons, past President of the United States, Nobel Peace Prize recipient, writer, activist, speaker and Sunday School Teacher.   This book is delivered under that last hat that he wears.   In this book he teaches lessons from the Bible that resonate with current events going on in the world and how they may be addressed from a Christian perspective.   He shares many events from his own life and also from his experiences while holding the office of President and living in the White House as well as sharing many instances from his own life he shares experiences of his family that apply too in an honest and forthright manner.    He does not gloss over the bad but confronts it and gives considered opinions and perspectives with the ease of speaking directly to the reader/listener.    He poured much research and prayer into his presidential years and owns both the not so well received actions as well as those he was lauded for.    Never one to spontaneously react, he takes his joys and his worries to God in prayer then discerns the best path he feels divinely lead to follow and shares much behind the scenes as well as those on multimedia sources.     The book is very easy to read and understand and it gives a crystal clear view of the motivation behind the actions taken.    Like being able to sit beside an Uncle and listen to him telling you what happened in days past and where the family is now and where he sees it going.    A good comfortable read of one man’s divine intervention moments and how he took the words “In God We Trust,” as gospel.  I would definitely recommend this book to anyone studying what transpired under his leadership and how and why he intervenes throughout the world to bring as peaceful of outcomes as he is lead to attempt on behalf of the United States.    I would also recommend this book as a good look at an often misunderstood human being who tried his best to do what he believed was right even when it was not the popular position to follow.    Good book.
