100 Women Who Made History

100 Women Who Made History:  Remarkable Women Who Shaped Our World by Stella Caldwell, Clare Hibbert, Andrea Mills, and Rona Skene   Consultant, Philip Parker            Hardback Book: 128 pages

The most diverse multi-cultural look at women throughout history I have ever read.      Some well-known but many not familiar to me that I was glad to learn about.   I highly recommend this book both for Womens’ History Month as well as a recommended book in classrooms.   The illustrations were as unique as the women mentioned.    From historical figures to sports figures.   Political leaders, great scientists, artists, film stars, inventors, business leaders and creative women pioneering their way in a man’s world.    Seriously the diversity of cultural figures alone is the most amazing collection in a book for young or adult, that I have ever come across.   I won’t divulge all of the fascinating ladies mentioned throughout the book but I will offer up a sample, Sappho, Frida Kahlo, Maya Angelou, Hypatia. Emilie du Chatelet, Ada LovelaceLeise Meitner, Sofia Kovalevskaya, Mary Seacole, Chien –Shiung Wu, Dian Fossey, Francoise Barre-Sinoussi,Harriet Tubman, Elizabeth Cady-Stanton, Wangari Maathai, Princess Isabel of Brazil, Rosa Parks, Malala Yousafzai, Taytu Betul, Wu Zetian, Sacagawea,  Maria Quiteria de Jesus, Madame C. J. Walker, Margaret Thatcher, Oprah, Junko Tabei, Marelene Deitrich,   Venus and Serena Williams, so many more I have barely touched on the immense amount of history and information of these amazing women achievers.    Excellent book.   It should be required reading, so many accomplishments here and so few are discussed very often but should be.   Well done.
