That Nothing May Be Lost collects dozens of Father Scalia's short essays. As the title suggests, the content is hardly original - the concern is to conserve rather than to innovate. Most of the pieces were originally written for parish and archdiocesan publications, and are therefore very short and tailored for a readership with diverse social, economic, and educational backgrounds but a common Catholic faith. Yet Fr Scalia's restatement of truths ever ancient, ever new is never trite or boring, to the contrary, they are presented here with hard crystal clarity, gently but without reservations or demurral.
