Does This Beach Make Me Look Fat?: True Stories and Confessions of an Ordinary Woman by Lisa Scottoline and Francesca Seratella AudioBook: 5 hours, 41 minutes Paperback Book: 321 pages
I love these gals. They will talk about anything no matter how personal from landscaping one’s ladyparts to learning to eat at the beach with glorious abandon and to stop caring if people are gaping at all you are putting in that pie hole without exploding. Lisa worried about the way she looked in a bathing suit so much when she was young that often she would try to cover up so not even her neck would show, later in life, she thought why deny herself – life is short – enjoy it while you are here screw what anybody else thinks that is their opinion and at the end of the day are you going to be proud of yourself for not eating that icecream even though you sweated through your bathing suit and your coverup then go home and raid the fridge like a Viking plundering a village so that now you are so bloated you can’t move and all that food will obviously immediately attach itself to your thighs or give yourself the benefit of the doubt and treat yourself when you want it? While you still have the ocean you can go float in like a barge till you feel like you have burned up those calories. This mother-daughter tag team are hilarious. Hope they come to St. Louis someday so I can see if they crack themselves up telling their stories as much as they do me, hearing them. GREAT BOOK! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT AS A READ or as a gift of laughter to someone you love. So rich and fun.
