Ghost Boys by Jewell Parker Rhodes, 214 pages
"After
seventh-grader Jerome is shot by a white police officer, he observes the
aftermath of his death and meets the ghosts of other fallen black boys
including historical figure Emmett Till." This was a difficult
books to read. Although the story is
sad, there is hope. It’s well written
and I think that a lot of kids would enjoy reading it, even if it is upsetting
to them.
