The 100-Year-Old Man who Climbed out the Window and Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson, 384 pages
When this book was recommend to me I was expecting an interesting drama about a 100 year old man who disappeared and the hunt for him. But this book is actually a comedy/historical fiction work.
It starts off much like you would expect, a 100 year old man climbs out a window and walks away. But after that it quickly turns into a history of the atom bomb with a mafia plot. Along the way we meet Truman, Stalin, Mao, Churchill and a cast of other notables. There are also bible salesmen, an elephant, and a missing 50 million.
I would highly recommend to anyone that can appreciate a bit of sarcasm and dry humor.
