Born Survivors, by Wendy Holden, 320 pages
This non-fiction work is about three women who survived the Holocaust while hiding pregnancies. I don't think I ever heard about women successfully delivering babies and surviving in concentration camps- but it happened. The author pulled on extensive diaries and journals, as well as interviews with the surviving "babies." The writing wasn't the greatest, and it annoys me to no end to not have footnotes, but at least she provided sources at the end. And if you like true stories of survival or Holocaust memoirs, this was a fairly extraordinary one.
