This is a story told from multiple perspectives, but the
main character is Bride, told from her perspective as a young woman. She grew up hating who she was because of the
color of her skin, which was so dark it was almost blue-black. Her mother, who was much lighter always
treated her harshly because of it. This
story is about the different people that Bride encounters as she is making a
journey into self-discovery and hopefully, acceptance of herself, and perhaps,
even love. This was a pretty short,
pretty quick read. It was also a little
odd, but I liked it.
