Saint Anything

Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen, 417 pages

Sydney has always been a good kid, never causing any trouble for her parents.  Her older brother, Peyton, was too and he always seemed to overshadow Sydney.  When Peyton started acting out and getting into trouble with the law, which ended with a prison sentence after hitting someone while driving drunk, Sydney’s whole family still seemed to revolve around Peyton.  Sydney changed schools in an effort to start anew and has made new friends and has started changing her life somewhat, but at home, her parents still don’t seem to see her, except as an extension of Peyton.  This was a great offering by Dessen.  She is a great writer and her books really speak to teen girls.  This is no exception.
