Turner is a short but excellent introduction to the life and work of England's greatest painter. After a brief biography, the bulk of the book is taken up by some three dozen works by the master, beautifully reproduced and each accompanied by a single page of commentary, rounded off with some short remarks on specific aspects of his career.
