Really good book. Jim Acosta, CNN's Chief White House Correspondent has weathered some really tough accusations and came out standing tall and strong. Never giving up and never giving way to bullying and lies, Jim Acosta has made many enemies throughout his career by telling the what and why of things in an age of misdirection of the truth. When politicians play fast and loose with what they believe to be pliable truth, that is truth that can be molded like play dough and think the public isn't paying attention anyway, Jim Acosta called them on it and asked the hard questions that made them flinch and go into avoidance mode. When Donald Trump was elected President things really began to go off in an unheard of direction. FAKE NEWS! At first Acosta and the other reporters were offended but it kept getting worse to the point reporters in this country are actually being threatened and assaulted by Trump followers and when on location at Trump rallies the media is being shouted down with accusations from the crowd of FAKE NEWS and worse. Jim Acosta has had rocks and more hurled at him, death threats at work, home and via email. He has been black listed from the White House, his press credentials and White House access pulled - he fought it in court and got it back due to the illegality of how it was done. He is most often ignored by the President when trying to ask questions during press conferences though he has learned to stand up and ask them anyway even when Donald Trump says, 'NOT YOU!" He often mentions throughout the book that regimes that control the press control everything that is said and there is no freedom of speech allowed. Jim Costa avows he will stand up for what is right and the truth and tell the people the truth in his reporting which has earned him another Donald Trump admonishment. Donald Trump told Jim Acosta he was the Enemy of the People for reporting FAKE NEWS. A very well written book showing what goes on in the press world-wide, historical facts, as well as much current information. A battle of the wills - he and the Donald are like the bantering and body slamming that goes in the WWE. A worthy read for anyone interested in how news is related, manipulated, and presented. I highly recommend this one.
