Coldest Girl In Coldtown by Holly Black, 419 pages
Tana wakes up one morning after a party to find that almost
all of her friends were killed in a vampire attack. The only one left alive is Aiden, her
ex-boyfriend, and he has been bitten. If
he drinks any human blood he will become a vampire. Tana also discovers a vampire, Gavriel. Together, the three of them escape the house
and the other vampires that are still there and head for the nearest coldtown,
a place where vampires and infected people are required to live, although many
humans who want to be vampires also live there.
Tana’s world has been like this since she was a young girl and a huge
outbreak occurred and the whole world became aware that vampires were
real. This is one of the best vampire
stories I’ve read in a long time. These
vampires are dangerous and the book definitely has some scary moments but
there’s also a glamour and fascination with vampires that makes the book just a
little bit scarier. Definitely a book
for teens who like horror, I think a lot of vampire fans will like this book.
