Where The Stars Still Shine by Trish Doller, 339 pages
Callie has been with her mother since she was four years
old. Now she is sixteen and her mother
has been arrested for kidnapping her.
She is going back to live with her father, and is meeting a huge Greek
family of cousins, grandparents, and even two little brothers. Callie doesn’t know how to act with all of
this family, but she does her best to get along. She even meets a boy, who turns out to be her
stepmother’s brother. Callie likes her
family and the clearly love her but she worries what will happen if her mother
gets out of prison and also worries that she will never fit in with this bog
family anyway. Since she and her mother
have always been on the run, Callie has been on her own a lot and doesn’t
really understand how to be a friend, much less a family. This is a really good story that includes a
romance that a lot of teens, especially girls, will like.
