Any Dream Will Do by Debbie Macomber Book 310 pages
Thanks to her younger brother and his drug habit, Shay finds herself in prison for embezzling money from her employers. After she gets out, she has very little idea what she will do with her life. For whatever reason, she finds herself sitting in a church. In this church is a man who is also feeling lost in his life, 4 years widowed Pastor Drew. He offers to help her, but in helping her he finds help himself. Will there be an unlikely romance between the rough around the edges Shay and the disillusioned pastor? Will they both be able to put their lives back together?
This book was typical Macomber. 2 people with their own problems find themselves thrown together and "spoiler alert" there's a romance. Of course at first they can't possibly see themselves with the other person, but there's an undeniable attraction that is standard in these types of books. Even though I feel that this author writes the same book over and over and calls it something different, I find myself drawn to them. There must be a certain amount of comfort in knowing how a story is going to end and yet there is also an element of aggravation with a touch of hope that maybe it will end differently. The reader - author relationship is a complicated one to say the least. If you like unlikely (and yet very likely) love stories, you'll enjoy Any Dream Will Do.
