When Ellis Rogers receives a terminal diagnosis from the doctor, he decides to leave his wife of 35 years behind and try out the time machine he built in the garage. Only able to travel into the future he figures the trip should take him 200 years forward but finds himself 2000 years forward to the year 4078.
Supposedly all the world's problem have been solves and humanity has taken to living beneath the surface of Earth. However Ellis witnesses a murder shortly after arriving which indicates that all is not well. It will be up to Ellis to unearth what is going on and stop the destruction of the world.
A bit simplistic in plotting and characterization, the novel is a light and enjoyable read.
