As Chimney Sweepers Come to Dust, by Alan Bradley, 392 pages
I can't believe this is the 7th Flavia deLuce mystery. I also can't believe I read it, since I swore after the ending of the last one that it had jumped the shark. Which I still believe it did, and reading this book really confirmed it. But Flavia is just so likeable- it's hard to quit her, even after the stories get weird. In this 7th in the series, Flavia has been sent to the mysterious Miss Bodycote's in Canada- away from her home and family, but with a skeleton falling out of her chimney, never far away from murder and investigation. Flavia doesn't know who to trust, and after finishing the book, I still am not very clear on that point, either.
