Zero Tolerance by Claudia Mills, 231 pages
Sierra Shepard is a model student, almost straight A’s all through middle school, a leader, member of an elite choir. But now, she is stuck in in-school suspension, waiting for a hearing about her expulsion because she has accidentally broken her school’s zero tolerance rule on bringing weapons to school. She accidentally brought her mom’s lunch to school which had a paring knife in it and even though she turned it in right away, she is being punished. Will she be expelled or allowed to return to school?
