Astonish Me by Maggie Shipstead, 253 pages
This book chronicles the marriage of Joan and Jacob. Joan leaves the world of ballet, realizing she will never be the star of the ballet and on the heels of her failed relationship with Arslan Rusakov. Jacob appears the safe choice and soon they welcome a son Harry. As the years progress it turns out Harry has the talent and desire to become a famed ballet dancer. This draws Joan back into the world of ballet.
A dance of relationships and thwarted desires, Shipstead creates a tale that fascinated until the end.
