Stingray Shuffle by Tim Dorsey, 303 pages
This the fifth book in Dorsey's series and is set before Orange Crush and explains the events leading up to it. The hunt for the briefcase containing five million dollars continues, and Serge and his companions are back in pursuit. Other people trailing the briefcase include ex Russian mobsters, the Jamaican mob, and the now bankrupt cocaine cartel where the money actually came from. Together these characters follow the money around Florida and all the way to New York to and back. Meanwhile we also meet a women's book group looking for adventure, a failed author who is now thrust back in the spotlight, and a group of entertainers whose claim to fame is having "Steppenwolf" as part of their lineup.
I felt like Dorsey did a good job explaining things, and enjoyed reading this book. It answered the questions that I was asking after Orange Crush such as where did the money go, and how did Serge end up with amnesia. This series still continues to be worth reading.
P.S. I did skip blogging about the fourth book for now even though I read it in order with the rest. The reason for this was because of its where it is set in relation to the rest of the series.
