The Right Fight by Chris Lynch, 189 pages
This is the first book in the new World War II series. Roman loves to play baseball and is on a team
that feeds into the Big Leagues.
However, he knows he’s not really good enough to make it as a pro. He has decided to join the US Army. If he can’t play professionally, he can
protect other people’s rights to play.
His girl, Hannah, has agreed to marry him so he’s a pretty happy guy
when he leaves. He’s excited about the
chance to fight the Nazi’s but frustrated with the slow rate that he seems to
be going to get there. Once he is
actually in the fighting, he realizes that it might be more difficult than he
imagined but he’s determined to keep going for his buddies, his fiancé and his
country. This is a decent realistic war
story for teens that will probably have some appeal to boys and is short enough
that reluctant readers might also like it.
