Bloodsucking Fiends by Christopher Moore, 290 pages
Jody has just been turned into a vampire. She breaks up with her boyfriend, quits her job, and finds a human companion to help her all in the course of a week. The human, Tommy, has just moved to the City to be a writer. He and Jody actually remain friends, even after she reveals that she is a vampire. There are a few problems however, like the fact that the vampire who turned Jody wants to kill them, and keeps leaving bodies near their apartment to keep the police poking around the neighborhood, and possibly suspecting them of murder. Also, Tommy keeps reading books about vampires and has a lot of ideas for things that Jody should try to do, like turning into a bat. Plus, the Emperor knows that there is a vampire loose in the city. While he doesn’t actually suspect Jody, she is still worried. This was a pretty funny story about vampires. People who like humorous supernatural books will probably enjoy this book.
