Betsey, Ella and Lizzie believed that they were triplets
when they were young girls, but since they were nine they’ve known the
truth. They were actually clones of a
child who died as a baby. Their mother
was a geneticist who, upon finding out that the clients only wanted one of the
clones and wanted the other two destroyed, decided to take all three girls and
raise them as her own. The cloned
material had actually been implanted in her eggs, so she simply decided to
impregnate herself with the three eggs and leave. When the girls were nine another doctor from
the lab admitted that they had cloned human beings and that the girls might
exist. Afraid that someone would take
the girls away, their mother moved the family and had the girls live as one
person, each only being visible for one part of the day. This year, one girl goes to school in the
morning, one in the afternoon, and the third goes to a college class, a job, or
other school activities in the evening.
The girls are now almost seventeen and they think it’s time they each
had their own life instead of living only a third of a life. This was a really good story that I think a
lot of teens, especially girls, would like.
