Thumbprint by Jason Ciaramella, 124 pages.
Thumbprint is based off a novella by Joe Hill who is one of my favorite authors. When I first got it I was thinking that I had somehow missed one of his publications and would have to go looking for it after reading this graphic novel. But luckily the novella was included within. There is also a second half to Thumbprint that includes a graphic novel adaptation to another storyline by Hill.
Thumbprint is based off of quite recent history and follows a women who has just returned from Iraq having been discharged following the Abu Ghraib scandal. While she tries to return to the life she left behind a shadowy force has returned to haunt her life. Like everything written by Hill the story is dark and twisted with no one surviving untouched.
