My Real Children by Jo Walton
320 Pages
A woman suffering from dementia remembers two separate lives with very different outcomes all stemming from one decision made over 60 years ago. In one life she married Mark, in another she married Bee. Kennedy was assassinated in one world and not in the other.
Walton is a science fiction writer and in this case the book has the SF premise but it is more an examination of a woman's life in Britain during the 20th century and how a simple decision could have a radical impact on a person's life.
I highly recommend this book which is coming out in May 2014.
