Now I’ll Tell You Everything by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor, 517 pages
This is the final book in the Alice McKinley series and the title says it all. The book starts with Alice heading off to college and ends with her a grandmother. While a few parts may feel a little rushed, I felt that, overall, it was a satisfactory conclusion to the series. Many girls really wanted to find out how Alice’s story ended, and while it doesn’t go all the way to her death, it certainly takes you far enough to feel very happy with how Alice’s life turned out. Almost the first half of the book deals with Alice’s college life and there are many funny and some slightly scary stories, like adventures with a terrible first roommate and a near date rape. The next half deals with Alice’s marriage and subsequent family life, with anecdotes about her job, travel, motherhood, and a breast cancer scare. This is definitely not the book to start with if someone is new to the Alice series but Alice fans will really enjoy the conclusion to this popular series.
