Perfecting Fiona by Marion Chesney, 168 pages
This is the second book on The School For Manners series. Fiona is the second “difficult miss” that the Tribble sisters, Effy and Amy, have taken on. Their first was a rousing success but clearly they need to continue that success if they want to make enough money to keep up their lifestyle in the manner to which they are accustomed. Fiona is a challenge in a different way than the usual difficulties. She is not headstrong, or ugly, and appears to be perfectly accomplished in all the ways in which young ladies ought to be, but several men have approached her aunt and uncle, seemingly with the intention of proposing, but after speaking with Fiona have apparently changed their minds. Can the sisters figure out what is wrong with Fiona so as to get her safely married before her guardians lose patience? Another fun regency romance, this book could easily be read whether or not the reader is familiar with the first book. Fans of period romance will probably enjoy the story.
