This is the fourth book in The Lemonade War series. These books stand alone pretty well, although
the earlier books are also good and kids would probably want to read the whole
series once they got started. Jessie is
getting ready to publish her extra-credit newspaper for her class at
school. The biggest problem is that she
doesn’t have a good front page story.
Then a mystery happens in their own room. Someone is leaving boxes of candy hearts on
people’s desks. Jessie decides to try to
investigate and figure out who is leaving the hearts. While she’s trying to fill up the rest of the
newspaper she decides to conduct a survey on love, anonymously, of course, and
publish the results. Meanwhile, her
brother, Evan, has his own problems.
People think that he and his friend, Megan, like like each other. And
maybe they do, but no one admits that stuff in 4th grade. This is a good real life type of a story that
will appeal to a wide variety of kids.
