Kimble has been on his own for a while, since his mother died and his father left the Territory for medical reasons.  Although he is still a kid, he is pretty self-sufficient.  He can feed and shelter himself and knows how to avoid the bugs.  The day that he meets Ruth and agrees to accompany her, his life changes for the better.  Kimble is a fantastic character in a fantastic world.  In the Territory are bugs that eat metal and almost anything else that stands between them and said metal.    Ruth is starting a martial arts school and Kimble, who already knows some, is her first student.  The book follows Kimble through his adventures.  Fans of science fiction/fantasy/adventure will enjoy it.
