The second book in The Testing series, Cia survived the
testing and has been accepted as a student in the University. Like her father did, she suffers from
nightmares that she suspects are memories of what happened during the Testing,
especially since she recorded some of the stories. Being in contact with Michal, a member of a
rebellion that hopes to bring down the current testing system, she is trying to
help their goals and to stay alive herself by doing well in her studies. Michal has told her that her internship
assignment could be vital to how she can help in the rebellion. Unfortunately, there are not as many intern
spots as there are students in the program and students who are not assigned an
internship are probably slated for Redirection, which Cia knows is certain
death. This was a great sequel to a
wonderful first book. Sometimes sequels
start to lose something but this was as good as the first book. Teens that enjoy dystopian novels, such as
Hunger Games or Divergent will probably like this series.
