The Last DragonSlayer by Jasper Fforde
287 Pages
In the UnUnited Kingdoms magic is fading and sorcerers and magicians are lucky to get jobs unplugging the drain. Foundling Jennifer Strange runs Kazam, an employment agency for magic practitioners. When a precog predicts the death of the last dragon the wheels of fate start to turn for the kingdoms and for Jennifer. The death could mean the end of magic all together or something else, something Big.
If you are familiar with Fforde and his Thursday Next series, much of the sly humor and irreverence is evident in this book as well. It was a fun read, very English and very Monty Python like.
