The Sentinels of Andersonville by Tracy Groot
348 Pages
This book is based upon a true place called Andersonville. During the civil war this was a place the Confederate Army imprisoned Union POWs and was run in such a manner that thousands of men died of starvation and disease, even though it was situated in an area of plenty. The author has introduced some fictional characters to tell a tale of the horrors of the camp and how some surrounding townspeople fought against the cruelty of the camps commander.
If you like historical fiction, this book will be mildly interesting. It is a little light on facts and the romantic side stories are not as well written.
